Day 01: In the morning visit to the world-wide famous Anatolian Civilizations Museum (It is closed on Mondays. If the guests commence the tour on Monday this museum is visited on the way back to Ankara unless they fly back from Kayseri or Nevşehir) also known as Hittite Museum and the Mausoleum of Atatürk, the burial place of the Turkish hero. Then departure for Cappadocia and lunch on the way. After a picturesque trip along the Salt Lake visit to the 13th century Seljukian Caravanserai Ağzıkarahan. Arrival to the Cappadocia region and overnight (L, D).
Day 02: After having breakfast in the hotel visit to the Pigeon Valley and Uçhisar; then proceed to the Open Air Museum in Göreme through Avcılar Valley and visit to the early christian churches decorated with unique frescoes depicting various scenes from the Bible. Lunch in a restaurant and then visit to Zelve region and Avanos with shopping facilities for the world-wide famous handicrafts. Overnight in Cappadocia (B, L, D).
Day 03: After having breakfast in the hotel drive to Kaymaklı Underground City, the place early christians hid from persecutors. Lunch on the way and return to Ankara. Transfer to the hotel or the airport (B, L). |
